Matt and I have now both played our first Ice Hockey matches. Matt played in goal last week for The Icemen and did really well - they played against The Angels (the best of the Black and Red Devils) who are a very good team. The Icemen won but not without a fight!! The Red Devils played last night against The Chieftains who, thank goodness, were not great which gave us newbies the ability to hold our own - though sadly the Chieftains won. Boo.... I have been training to play left wing but at the last minute the coach moved me to centre as I am quite fast - he clearly forgot I still can hardly stop! It was very nerve racking for Matt and I playing our first games but we have both decided we love the game and will continue.
We are off to Calgary again this weekend with our friends Hilary and Brian to go to a Christmas Fair and then dinner at the top of the Calgary Tower. On Sunday Matt is getting dropped off at the airport for a 2 weeks working in Germany. So I will have to amuse myself!
