Helicopter ride!

Ralston Village

The prairie

Today the dependants were allowed to have a flight in a Gazelle helicopter and I was lucky enough to get a place.  We were given a safety briefing prior to the flight then in groups of 3 taken out to the helicopter.  I managed to make sure I sat in the front with the pilot (best view!) and we were treated to a 6 minute flight.  It was amazing - the view of the prairie was incredible and we flew over the village passing right over our house!  I managed to take a couple of sneaky pictures of the village and prairie which are posted above.
Last night we went to a BBQ at the Paul and Lyndsay's house (Paul is Matt's Yeoman of Signals and Lyndsay is a friend of mine).  Lots of great food and Pimms.  I made sure I did not drink too much so I did not feel sick during the flight!
