This weekend we went to Waterton Park - a national park south of Calgary near the US border. It was very cold and as there had been snow in Ralston that morning so we were expecting more of the same. It was great to see mountains after a month of flat dry prairie! We did a walk on Saturday which was ankle deep snow and as we were the first on this trail that day it was hard work. We saw some Cougar tracks but no sign of any animals. Most of the park was closed as it was now out of season and only about 3 hotels open and 2 restaurants. On Sunday we walked towards Red Rock mountains - unfortunately the road was closed so we were unable to go as far as we would have liked. Then the long drive home (via Tim Horton's for coffee and donuts!)!
Matt continues to be busy at work and I am still applying for jobs (no luck yet) so am filling my days with cake decorating courses (!) and lunch with friends. I have been selected for the Red Devils ice hockey team and training starts Wednesday. Hope I learn to stop soon!! The cats have decided going outside is not really for them and when exercise is required they run about the house like maniacs then fall asleep.
