We have arrived!

Well, here we are.  Getting settled in slowly.  The flight was good and we arrived at 1530 on Thursday.  Cats were very distressed but settled down in the end.  After a 2.5 hr drive from Calgary on Friday we arrived in Ralston to our new home.  Small but weirdly big.  Tiny kitchen and bathroom though!!  We spent the weekend shopping for food and house bits.  Everything in the shops comes in large including tins of tomatoes!  No 'normal' sized tins anywhere to be found.  We went to a BBQ at our neighbours on Saturday night and met some new people which was good. Then on Monday night I (Jen) went on a girls night with a few of the people I have met - excellent time!  Matt has been very busy with work and we both have been busy with car shopping (did a deal on a giant 4x4 today!) and sorting out internet/phone/banking etc.  I have been to the gym, registered the cats (at the gym strangely)  and wandered about.  I am off to a coffee morning tomorrow and have also signed up for the Skate school with the idea to play Ice Hockey (we both have).  Sounds very violent though!  The weather has been lovely (as expected) but some strong winds and rain coming soon.  I am off to look for work later this week in the village but most likley will be voluntary as not many jobs about and many people want them.
