LOCKDOWN

Its been so long since we updated and I realise why - we had nothing to say!  From returning from Strasbourg the whole of France was in the grip of the strikes which pretty much forced the country to a standstill - massively limited transport.  Then a few months later Covid-19 reared its ugly head and here we are still in lockdown with another 2 weeks to go.

So whats been occurring?  As I said, not a lot but i have some pictures anyway.  Matt has been  working from home since 17th March when France went into a strict lockdown.  We cannot leave the house without a completed form stating date, time and address and where we are going.  We are restricted to only exercising/dog walking within 1km of our house so no more forest walks for Ruby.  No more  of anything for Ruby as the local parks are also closed - though the locals have not been taking this too seriously!  I think we are all getting rather bored of walking the same streets now.

I have not been working as the nurseries are closed so Anias is at home with her parents - I am sure that is fun for them!!!

The lockdown is to be released on 11th May but we are not sure in what capacity yet and how much normality will return.  The local restaurants are offering delivery service and most of the food shops are still open which is good.  Limited people allowed in a time and the big supermarkets have long queues.  To be honest we are lucky - we have a garden and the weather has been glorious so although its getting dull it could be worse.

The little chicks have(had) creme eggs inside!

Checking the tent still works!

We have 3 swans at the local park - two white and black one (who has been there always though the two white ones are new).  Both the white and black swan are nesting so looks like a menage a trois has occurred!  No chicks yet but cant be long.

Lots of houses have wisteria and it looks and smells amazing.  Sadly not our house but its great seeing all the flowers at this time of year.

Ruby is reluctant to go in the pool to cool down without a 'life guard' on duty!

There is always time now for car tinkering

Sandy - our substantial compost pile who has many babies dotted around the garden.  Garden waste starts being collected again in two weeks thank goodness - then its curtains for Sandy and her off-spring!

Local bakery was selling the rare commodity that is flour - so I made a successful loaf of bread.

Over Christmas the 4 of us had a competition to make the ugliest Christmas sweater - Susan won!

I have been keeping myself amused with sewing and Zoom Yoga classes.  We are lucky to have a treadmill and my bike is on the turbo trainer for now (cycling also banned).

Well not much left to update as so little been going on but hopefully we will get some time away in the camper van before we leave (which should be July).  Who knows.........
