Yesterday was the annual Ralston Rodeo - this is another date in the calender for the competitors in Alberta's Rodeos. It started off with the professionals competing in events such as calf roping and bull riding. After the professionals, the Batus staff were able to have a go at some of the events - and there was a women's team for calf roping. I am not convinced I would hurry back to see this type of event again as it's quite hard to watch calves being chased and roped without considering the cruelty of it. Although this is a normal and necessary aspect of farm life in Alberta - I am not sure that as a 'sport' I care for it much.
There were also a whole load of tanks on display (which I enjoyed quite a lot and Matt tested my tank knowledge!). I started the day on a stand for Servus Credit Union (who I work for) giving out water with my colleagues. Once all the water went the day was ours - this took about an hour as it was so hot.
Matt has gone to work today (it's Sunday) and this is now the beginning of his even busier period where he will be away for a few nights at a time, coming home as and when he is able.
