General update

Matt's quilt

I-Spy quilt for Aimee

Charity quilt

The last of the quilts!!  The top one Matt made without any help from me.  He is very pleased with this quilt and I am very impressed with him.  He had some difficult blocks to make but he did all of with me interfering. The second quilt was a gift for my niece Aimee who luckily loved it.  The final one is made from many of my scrap fabrics and has been sent to a charity called Siblings Together - they hold annual camps for children who are separated from their siblings in the care system, whether adopted, in foster care or just separated due to family issues.  The siblings get to spend time together in a neutral environment.  Each child gets a quilt at the end of camp.

Jackie's Citizenship ceremony

Busted!

On return from our holiday we were invited to our friend Jackie's citizenship ceremony.  This was an emotional day for her and it was great to see all the people taking their oath and singing their new national anthem,  After the ceremony we had a tour of the law courts - as luck would have it Jackie knew one of the County Sheriffs who let us go onto areas not in the tour!  We did get to sit in police cars and police vans to.   We ended up at Jackie and Gareth's for lunch and plenty of champagne.

All our belongings get shipped back on Monday and we fly back to the UK on 7th August.  The cats will go a  few days before and recover in a cattery in York.  I have managed to make it through the first week of work after the conversion - not as bad as we were all expecting.  The temperature today is 30c so very warm and the air conditioning is now fully on.
