First quilt
Emma and Jen skiing at Hidden Valley
Calgary Tower
Art - outside public library, Calgary
As you can see from the first picture I have now finished my first quilt - this is a rail fence technique and not too hard to do (thank goodness). My friend Alice helped me alot - namely by lending me a sewing machine and guiding me through each step! She is very an experienced quilter so I was lucky to have her only 2 doors down. I have a few more projects now lined up and booked in for some classes.
Matt and I went skiing last week with friends Emma and Brian - Brian gave us all master lessons as he is an advanced skier and Emma only learnt to ski this year but was way ahead of Matt and I in skill. It was a great day and Matt and I felt we both progressed.
Matt and I spent a night in Calgary last Friday - stayed at the Delta hotel and ate (again) at the Calgary Tower restaurant - though I managed to not have steak again (tempting as it was). We had a lovely night and it is always refreshing to get out of Ralston. The next day we went to some sewing shops so I could assess sewing machines and then we bought a tent - I know, makes no sense!! Hopefully we will pics of the new tent in the summer when we can use it.
I am still jobless (this is becoming a recurring theme!) but there is a job going again at the bank so am applying for this. But in the meantime keeping busy with voluntary work, quilting, have tea with friends! We have a BATUS ski day next week so will upload pictures from then - there are races for the advanced skiers and lessons for us beginners.
